This document provides a menu of tools and techniques for engaging the community. The tools and techniques have been divided into two sections: Communication and Participation.

Communication tools and techniques highlight options for promoting projects and opportunities for involvement. Participation tools and techniques highlight options for providing opportunities for stakeholders and the community to share ideas and inform decisions. Each tool or technique in the menu is accompanied by a brief description and tips to keep in mind when planning. The tools and techniques are rated according to level of investment required, time/resources required, and anticipated impact.
